Please note that you can also apply by email to <u><a href=\"mailto:uniogbis-recruitment@un.org\">uniogbis-recruitment@un.org<\/a>;<\/u> <strong>Kindly note that upon receipt of applications, only short-listed candidates will be contacted<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Description of Main Duties:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the selected candidate will be responsible for the following duties (these duties are generic):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform the laboratory test prescribed by the doctors;<\/li>\n<li>Keep the records of the entire laboratory test performed;<\/li>\n<li>Performs tests and readings so as to alert the doctors if the case needed;<\/li>\n<li>Applies standards of bio hazardous management in the laboratory;<\/li>\n<li>Ensures safety of the patients in performing necessary medical tests;<\/li>\n<li>Ensure confidentiality in management of the results of the tests performed;<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of management of blood bank is a plus;<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the dry chemistry techniques is a must;<\/li>\n<li>At least 10 years of experience as Laboratory technician;<\/li>\n<li>Maintains patient records and exercises confidentiality;<\/li>\n<li>Accords patients\u2019 fair and equal treatment regardless of ethnic background;<\/li>\n<li>Work on shifting schedule and be on call for emergencies when needed;<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of the medical equipments and its proper use;<\/li>\n<li>Assist the reception whenever needed<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong><u>Competencies:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em><u>Professionalism:<\/u><\/em> Knowledge and hand on experience in Laboratory.<\/p>\n<p><em><u>Teamwork:<\/u><\/em> Works collaboratively and builds consensus. Tailors language according to needs.<\/p>\n<p><em><u>Commitment to continuous learning:<\/u><\/em> Contributes to the learning of colleagues and willing to learn from others.\u00a0 Seeks opportunity to develop current skills.<\/p>\n<p><em><u>Technological Awareness:<\/u><\/em> Seeks opportunity to enhance and learn new technological skills.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Qualifications and Requirements:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Education<\/u><\/strong><u>:<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Degree from a recognized university\/school. National registration and license are required.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Experience:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A minimum of five (5) years of progressive responsible laboratory experience in medical field. Experience in emergencies is a requirement.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Language:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Fluent in oral and written English and Portuguese.<\/p>\n<table style=\"font-size: 16px\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"635\"><strong>Preference will be given to equally qualified women candidates.
