Initial Contract: 3 months

Description of Main Duties:

Under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the selected candidate will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Assists doctors with the performance of respective duties in treating patients;
  • Receives, observes patients conditions and records the necessary data for effective treatment;
  • Performs tests and readings so as to alert the doctors on conditions of the patients;
  • Implements and evaluates individual treatment plans for patients with a known long term condition;
  • Assesses and care for patients presenting with uncomplicated wounds;
  • Applies medical standards as required by Medical Officers and biohazards universal precautions;
  • Ensures safety of the patients in performing necessary medical applications;
  • Communicates with patients and updates the doctors in the clinic;
  • Educates patients about their health;
  • First aid training;
  • Manages pharmaceuticals;
  • Administers injections (IM, IV, SC, ID);
  • Maintains patient records and exercises confidentiality;
  • Accords patients fair and equal treatment regardless of ethnic background;
  • Works on shifting schedule;
  • Knowledge of the medical equipments and their proper use;
  • Assists the reception whenever needed;

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education:

Degree from a recognized university/school. National registration and license are required.

Experience:

A minimum of five (5) years of progressive responsible experience in medical field. Experience in emergencies is a requirement.

Language:

Fluent in oral and written English and Portuguese.

Preference will be given to equally qualified women candidates.
